International expert and consultant on arbitration, international transactions and trade and investment treaties.  She was Director of Prevention, Dispute Settlement and Investment and Director of Administration of Trade Treaties (DICOEX) of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic, being in charge, among others, of coordinating the defence of the Dominican State in investment arbitration and State-to-State arbitration. He played an important role in the negotiation of various investment treaties of the Dominican Republic, in the drafting of its model investment treaty, and in the reform of investment arbitration coordinated by UNCITRAL.

 

For more than 15 years she spent working for the Dominican State in the investment arbitration framework, the Dominican Republic maintained an undefeated record. Before joining DICOEX, she was Executive Secretary of the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CRC) of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo.

 

She is co-author of the book "International Trade Law and Commercial Policy of the Dominican Republic". Author of several publications on arbitration, law and international relations.

 

She has lectured on International Arbitration at Columbia University, Fordham University, Miami University, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad de Externado (Colombia), Universidad de la Habana, Universidad de Panama, the United Nations (UNCTAD and UNCITRAL), Academia Mexicana de Derecho Internacional Privado y Com-parado, among others.
